Ashley | Personal Branding Photo Shoot in Bend, Oregon
Ashley reached out looking for a photographer to help capture some new headshots for her business rebrand. She had a vision of exactly what she needed for her branding session. Overall, she needed a mix of photos, several outfit changes, and some simple props to update her website and social media for her content marketing agency.
Having a variety of imagery is super important when creating content for a brand refresh, new company launch to share share your unique story and your professional identity.
During our discovery call we discussed possible locations that would lend themselves to Ashley’s vision. We agreed upon Twin Creative Studios (a new studio in Bend) and an urban outdoor scene near downtown Bend. On the day of the branding session we had some very unusual weather, which included high winds and rain when there did not appear to be clouds overhead. We did the best we could outdoors but quickly agreed it was too windy to continue outdoors. Flying hair in photos is not ideal. When planning to shoot outdoors, you have to be flexible as you are always at the mercy of the weather gods.
As a last minute pivot we popped into one of my favorite coffee shops, Lone Pine, that happened to be across the street. As we ordered coffees to warm up, I asked permission to make a couple of photos of Ashley indoors. They agree. I snapped a few portraits inside and then for a different perspective went back out in the rain to get a handful of shots from the outside looking in. We loved how these turned out!
Just as having a couple of outfits to create variety in the imagery, selecting a couple of locations is a great idea as well.
Crazy weather aside, Ashley nailed her fall branding session!
Thanks to Christine at Makeup Mafia for the perfect job with Ashley’s hair and makeup.
