Black Butte Ranch Family Portraits

Here in Central Oregon summer and fall are very popular times for family portrait sessions. I had the pleasure of capturing some memories with this adorable family at Black Butte Ranch, which happens to be one of my favorite places to work.

Please note: Black Butte Ranch now requires a permit to photograph on property. If you love the look of this location, I am happy to help you through the permit process or suggest equally beautiful locations for your portrait session that may not require a permit.

Family portrait sessions can be anywhere from 30 minutes for a ‘petite’ session to 90 minutes for those extended family portrait sessions. My style is documentary with laid-back direction to capture natural and joyful moments. Family photos do not need to be a stressful experience with forced poses and fake smiles. In my opinion family sessions should be fun and even silly.

This life passes in a blink of an eye and savoring those sweet moments through a frame frozen in time is the best gift you can give yourself and your family. Trust me. You will not regret documenting these sweet moments.
