What is the Best Time to Schedule Your Session in Sunriver, Oregon
May through October are my favorite months to photograph outdoors in Sunriver, Oregon. With the wide open meadows, Cardinal Landing Bridge, and forested trails, you can’t go wrong with booking a photo adventure in Sunriver, no matter the season. I typically schedule my family sessions in the evening when the sun is golden and closer to the horizon.
The sun sets later during late Spring and Summer months, so keep that in mind if you have young children but still want to capture that soft, golden light as the sun gets lower. Afternoon naps are helpful! Autumn is great for an earlier setting sun if you are trying to keep your children on their nighttime routine. Mornings are a potential depending on the location, but keep in mind mornings can be chilly year round.

What to Wear to Your Family Session
My favorite advice for deciding on outfits for family photos is to wear what you feel comfortable and confident in! If you feel good, you will look good, I promise. Try coordinating everyone else’s outfit with yours. Once you’ve booked a session with me, I’ll share some tips on deciding on what to wear which includes:
- Dress for the weather. If you schedule a photo session in the the fall, don’t wear summery clothes. If it is chilly out, you don’t want to have goosebumps during the shoot. If the kids are cold, they are going to get fussy quickly.
- Accessorize. Think cute shoes, hats, bold jewelry. My repeat clients like to bring a secondary stylized outfit for some editorial type photos and I’m here for it!! If you want to bounce some ideas off me- let’s get creative!!
- Try adding a pop of color to neutral outfits.
- Be yourself! Let you style shine instead of going for those IG inspired fits that might note match your personal style.
