Central Oregon Family Session
The day this family session was scheduled, I woke up to windy, rainy, ugly conditions here in Central, Oregon. Usually, Bend weather can change drastically within 15 minutes but the forecast showed we were going to receive rain, gusts of 45 mph wind and more rain throughout the day. I reached out to the client and gave them a couple of options, we could chance it and see if the breaks in the weather held and continue on with the session or postpone until the following day. We were limited to a couple of days as the eldest daughter was getting ready to move out of state. We took our chances and rescheduled for early the next morning and it was the perfect decision. The wet, gray rainy conditions of the previous day had morphed into a crisp, icy, winter wonderland. It was an absolutely beautiful morning with the trees covered in frost and snow, glistening in the morning light.
The mother-daughter trio worked with the weather and wore cute sweaters and neutral layers, bringing additional shawls and the most fabulous frilly leather jacket. Wearing layers and accessorizing with scarves and shawls adds the perfect amount of texture to the photographs. Plus the extra layers are always helpful when trying to stay warm. Deciding what to wear for family portraits can be stressful. I am always more than willing to help you make these tough decisions. Check out my Pinterest board here with some outfit suggestions. When you book a portrait session with me, I will also send you some style tips!
If you are traveling to Central Oregon, now is the time to book your outdoor winter session. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that we’ll get to play and create images in a winter wonderland similar to these images.
