Sparks Lake Family Photos
This cute family of three decided to venture out of Bend and up the Cascade Lakes Highway for their annual family photos. We went to one of one of my favorite lakes in Central Oregon, Sparks Lake. It was a gorgeous fall evening and you could tell by the flock of photographers at the lake. Fun to see a bunch of familiar photographer faces. We had beautiful light, a fun patch of snow — perfect for images for their holiday card — and they even brought their favorite beanies! Go Packers!
Outdoor family photo sessions are some of my favorites. Having outdoor sessions gives families the opportunity to run around, play and get silly with a beautiful, naturally lit backdrop. It’s especially great for younger kids- I thrive with chaos! Really, family photo sessions should be fun and stress-free!
Sparks Lake is a wonderful choice since it isn’t far from Bend. The lake is easily accessible but the one downside is the crowds. A thing I prefer to avoid during the summer months. However, if Sparks Lake is your choice during the summer months there are a couple of locations around the lake that are less popular and if you are up for a little adventure there are multiple places off the beaten path.
Yolanda, Jeff and JoJo, it has been so fun to see (and document) your sweet family grow over the last couple of years.
I’ll have to post their Covid backyard photo session (2020, amirite?!). . .

Interestingly, it was in the least populated continent, Antarctica, where she found her true love.
